Privacy Policy
How FrostyStack collects, uses, and protects your information.
Who we are
Our website address is https://frostystack.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect from visitors, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on articles published at frostystack.com/articles/, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images published on the site.
Contact form
When you submit our contact form, we store the name, email address, and message you provide in our site database and forward a copy by email. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell or share contact form submissions with third parties.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store the email address you provide so we can send you updates about FrostyStack tools, articles, and growth strategies. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in any newsletter email.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies are removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous information such as the number of visitors, the pages they view, and the sources they arrive from. This helps us improve the site. You can review Google's privacy practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Affiliate links
FrostyStack contains affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate networks and vendors may set their own cookies to attribute referrals. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more information.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos, images, and posts from other services. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website directly.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. Comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Data may also be processed by the third-party services we rely on to run the site, including our analytics provider and our email delivery provider.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Contact form submissions are retained for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and for our business records. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Some data may be transferred to and processed by the third-party services we use, which may operate outside of your country of residence.
